Motorbike Rental in Rawai

Rawai is Phuket's south: Nai Harn beach, Promthep Cape with the island's best sunsets, the fishing village and dozens of seafood restaurants. This is where long-stayers live — and you can't do without a bike here: two wheels are the easiest way to reach the shops, beaches and Chalong. Motorbike rental in Rawai starts at 400฿ a day, or about 135฿ a day on a monthly rental.

Andrei Motorbike Rent has been operating in Phuket since 2023 (with over 17 years of experience in Thailand): branches in Karon (Patak Rd 306/3) and Bangtao (126 Srisoonthorn Rd), 400+ motorbikes in our Phuket fleet. Paperwork takes 10 minutes; we never keep your passport — just a copy and a cash deposit.

How to get a bike in Rawai

We do not have a separate office in Rawai — the nearest one is on Patak Road 306/3, between Karon and Kata. So we bring the bike to you: send your address, the model, the rental period and a photo of your passport on WhatsApp, and we deliver a clean, fuelled bike to your house or hotel. We can collect it at the end too.

Paperwork takes about ten minutes on the spot: a passport copy and a cash deposit of 3,000–10,000฿ depending on the model. The original document stays with you. Every bike comes with two helmets and medical insurance covering hospital treatment up to 50,000฿ in case of an accident.

Rawai is a base, not a swimming beach

Let us be honest so there is no disappointment: Rawai itself is not a beach for swimming. Long-tail boats line the shore, the water is shallow, and the main attraction on the promenade is the seafood market where they cook your catch in front of you. For swimming, people ride to the neighbouring beaches.

That is exactly why Rawai works as a southern base: accommodation is cheaper than on the tourist beaches, and Nai Harn, Ya Nui and Promthep are all close. Without a bike, though, that logic falls apart — there is effectively no public transport between the southern beaches.

Which bike to choose for the south

The south is hilly: the road to Promthep and to the windmill climbs, and the drop down to Ya Nui is short and steep.

  • Honda Click 125 — if you ride alone around Rawai and Chalong, which are mostly flat.
  • Honda Click 160 or PCX 160 — if you ride two-up. The climb to the windmill viewpoint and to Promthep is hard work on a 125 with a passenger.
  • Honda ADV 160 or FORZA 350 — if you plan regular trips to Phuket Town and the west coast: the roads are long and comfort matters more.

Where to ride from Rawai

The south is compact: you can cover the highlights in a single day.

  • Promthep Cape — the island's best-known sunset spot; arrive early.
  • The windmill viewpoint and Ya Nui beach — on the way to Promthep, a small bay between the rocks.
  • Nai Harn — the best swimming beach in the south, with a lagoon behind the sand.
  • Chalong and the Big Buddha — north, with a long steep climb to the statue.

Frequently asked questions about bike rental in Rawai

How much does bike rental in Rawai cost?
Honda Click 125 — 400฿/day or 4,000฿/month (about 135฿ a day). PCX 160 — 600฿/day, Forza 350 — 1,200฿/day. Live prices are in the table above.
How do I get a bike in Rawai?
Order delivery: send your address and rental period via WhatsApp — the manager confirms the time and delivery fee. Or pick the bike up yourself at our Karon office.
Which bike for Phuket's south?
The roads to Nai Harn and Promthep are hilly. Solo riders are fine on a Click 125/160; for two people or longer rides we recommend the PCX 160, ADV 160 or Forza 350.
Do you have an office in Rawai?
Not a walk-in office — the nearest is on Patak Road 306/3 between Karon and Kata. We deliver the bike to you: send the address and dates on WhatsApp.
Can you swim at Rawai itself?
Usually not: boats line the shore and the water is shallow. People ride to Nai Harn or Ya Nui to swim — a few minutes away by bike.
Is 125cc enough to reach Promthep?
On your own, yes. Two-up the climbs to the windmill viewpoint and the cape are hard going, so a 160cc or larger is better.
How far is Rawai from the west-coast beaches?
Karon and Kata are neighbouring areas over the hills, and the ride takes noticeably less time than the map suggests. By bike the south and the west are conveniently linked.
