Motorbike Rental at Phuket Airport

Landing in Phuket and want to ride straight away? We can bring a bike to Phuket Airport by arrangement: send your flight number, bike model and rental period via WhatsApp — we'll meet you with the bike on arrival.

The second option is often easier and cheaper: take a taxi to your hotel and we'll deliver the bike there — for rentals of 5+ days delivery across Karon, Kata and Bangtao is free. Andrei Motorbike Rent has been operating in Phuket since 2023 (with over 17 years of experience in Thailand): 400+ motorbikes in Phuket, 10-minute paperwork, and we never keep your passport.

Being honest about luggage

Let us start with what usually goes unsaid. If you are arriving with a large suitcase, riding a bike from the airport is a bad idea. There is nowhere to put it: the space under the seat takes a backpack and a helmet, no more. With bulky luggage on a scooter you will be slow, unstable and on an unfamiliar road.

The sensible plan is this: take a taxi from the airport to your hotel, and have the bike delivered to the hotel in the morning. It costs roughly the same and your holiday starts calmly. If your luggage is light — a backpack and hand luggage — then taking a bike from the airport works perfectly well.

How to get a bike near the airport

We do not have an office inside the airport — our branches are in Karon (Patak Road 306/3) and Bangtao (126 Srisoonthorn Road). We bring bikes to the airport by arrangement: send us your flight number, arrival time, the model and the rental period on WhatsApp and we will agree a meeting point.

Paperwork takes about ten minutes on the spot: a passport copy and a cash deposit of 3,000–10,000฿ depending on the model. The original stays with you. The bike comes with a full tank, two helmets and insurance covering hospital treatment up to 50,000฿ in case of an accident.

The road from the airport

The airport is in the north of the island and almost all the resorts are further south. Nai Yang and Naithon are closest, then Bangtao, then Kamala and Patong, and the south — Karon, Kata, Rawai — is a good deal further.

The route follows the main highway: wide, busy and shared with lorries. For your first day in Thailand it is not the gentlest introduction, especially if it has been a while since you last rode a scooter. Try to plan your arrival so you ride in daylight — an unfamiliar highway is far less forgiving after dark.

Which bike if you are heading straight for the coast

  • Honda PCX 160 — the sensible minimum for the highway: steadier at speed, a better riding position, more room under the seat.
  • Honda ADV 160 or FORZA 350 — if you ride two-up or head straight south. On a long road, wind protection and suspension matter more than anything else.
  • Honda Click 125 — we would not recommend it for the highway with luggage: it is good around town, not on long runs.

What to know before your first ride is in our guide on how to rent a motorbike in Phuket, and police checks and licences are covered in renting without a licence.

Bike delivery

Airport handover — arrange in advance via WhatsApp: flight, model, period, passport photo. The manager will confirm the handover fee. Keep in mind: riding 40–60 minutes on a highway with luggage after a long flight is tough — next-morning hotel delivery is often the smarter choice.

Frequently asked questions about bike rental at Phuket airport

Can I get a bike right at Phuket Airport?
Yes, by prior arrangement: send your flight number, model and rental period via WhatsApp — we'll meet you with the bike at the airport parking.
Which is better — airport pickup or hotel delivery?
For rentals of 5+ days, delivery to your hotel in Karon, Kata or Bangtao is free — usually a better deal than an airport handover.
How far are the beaches from the airport?
Bangtao is about 30 minutes away; Karon and Kata are 50–70 minutes over a mountain road. With a suitcase after a flight, a taxi plus hotel bike delivery is usually easier.
Can I pick the bike up at the airport itself?
We have no office in the terminal, but we bring bikes to the airport by arrangement. Send your flight number and arrival time on WhatsApp and we will agree where to meet.
Is riding from the airport with a suitcase realistic?
We would advise against it. The space under the seat holds a backpack and a helmet only. With large luggage, take a taxi to the hotel and have the bike delivered there instead.
How long is the ride to the beaches?
Nai Yang, Naithon and Bangtao are closest — they are in the north, near the airport. Patong, Karon and Kata are noticeably further and take considerably longer.
Which bike suits the ride from the airport?
A PCX 160 or larger: on the highway, stability and wind protection matter most. A Click 125 is not the right choice for a long run with luggage.
