Staying in Phuket for a month or longer? Monthly motorbike rental is the cheapest way to have a bike on the island: a Honda Scoopy 110 costs 3,500 ฿ for a month — about 117 ฿ a day, against 350 ฿ if you rented the same bike by the day. A Honda Click 125 is 4,000 ฿ a month instead of 12,000 ฿ at the daily rate.
The rate is fixed by contract and does not rise in high season. Scheduled maintenance — engine oil, brakes, tyres — is on us; if something breaks we swap the bike rather than leave you waiting. On extensions our rule is simple: the rate only improves. We cannot and will not move you back to a more expensive tariff.
The longer the term, the lower the monthly rate. Two and three months are billed at a reduced monthly price, and payment can be made month by month.

The arithmetic is the strongest argument for a long rental. Taking a Honda Click 125 as an example:
In other words, a month costs roughly the same as ten days at the daily rate. If your stay is longer than about ten days, the monthly tariff is already cheaper than paying by the day — this is the single most useful thing to know before you book.
For a long stay the choice matters more than for a three-day holiday, because you will ride it every day:
If you are not sure, take a bike for a few days first and swap to another model when you sign for the month — that is easier than discovering after three weeks that the bike is too small.
To sign a long-term contract you need a valid passport and a cash deposit — 3,000–10,000 ฿ depending on the model. We take a passport copy only: your original document always stays with you. A driving licence is not required to sign the contract, but riding without a licence valid for a motorbike is the rider's own responsibility, and police checkpoints do operate in the tourist areas — the details are in our guide on renting a motorbike in Phuket without a licence.
The deposit is returned in full when you hand the bike back in the condition you received it. For rentals of several months payment can be split month by month rather than paid up front.
